Pages (Documents)

Pages is FanDesk's built-in documentation and knowledge base. Create, organize, and share documents with your team.

Creating a Page

  1. Go to Pages (shortcut: 3)
  2. Click + New Page
  3. Start typing — the title auto-saves

Or use the command palette: Ctrl+K > "New Page"

The Editor

FanDesk uses a rich text editor with these features:

Text Formatting

  • Bold (Ctrl+B)
  • Italic (Ctrl+I)
  • Underline (Ctrl+U)
  • Strikethrough
  • Inline code
  • Highlight

Headings

  • Heading 1 (largest)
  • Heading 2
  • Heading 3 (smallest)

Lists

  • Bullet lists
  • Numbered lists
  • Task lists (checkboxes)

Blocks

  • Code blocks — With syntax highlighting
  • Blockquotes — For callouts
  • Tables — For structured data
  • Horizontal rules — To separate sections

Media

  • Images (paste or upload)
  • Links (auto-detected URLs)

Page Organization

Hierarchy

Pages can be nested inside other pages:

Company Wiki
├── Engineering
│   ├── Getting Started
│   ├── Code Standards
│   └── Deployment Guide
├── Marketing
│   ├── Brand Guidelines
│   └── Campaign Templates
└── HR
    ├── Employee Handbook
    └── Benefits Guide

To create a sub-page:

  1. Open the parent page
  2. Click + Add Sub-page
  3. Or drag a page under another in the sidebar

Breadcrumbs

When viewing a nested page, breadcrumbs show the full path:

Company Wiki > Engineering > Getting Started

Click any part to navigate up the hierarchy.

Cover Images

Add a cover image to make pages visually distinct:

  1. Click Add Cover at the top of a page
  2. Upload an image or paste a URL
  3. Reposition by dragging

Templates

Save time with templates:

Using Templates

  1. Click + New Page
  2. Select From Template
  3. Choose a template
  4. Customize as needed

Creating Templates

  1. Create a page with your standard structure
  2. Click the ... menu
  3. Select Save as Template
  4. Name your template

Embedding Content

Pages can embed other FanDesk content:

Embed a Page

Type /page and select a page to embed inline.

Embed a Project

Type /project to embed project details.

Embed Drive Files

Type /drive to embed a file preview.

Embed Tasks

Type /task to embed a task card.
